Interview: Logan Jack

Name: Logan Jackson
Age: 18

Where are you from?: I live and go to college in Arkansas, but I have
aspirations for New York City. Or at least.....a city.

Tools of the trade: For my digital photos I use my Canon T1i and 70mm lens. And I've just started trying to shoot on film, and for that I use a Canon Rebel. It was my step-mom's~
I don't have a remote for my camera, and i'm not really sure why actually. It's kind of hard to do all those self-portraits with the self-timer but I guess i've gotten used to it.

Artistic influences: I am really interested in and intrigued by fashion. I would love to work with up and coming designers and photograph their collections. One of the photographers that I have recently become intensely inspired by is Luis Sanchis (
Also, I've always gathered most of my inspiration from nature itself. I don't usually have preconceived ideas for photos, but if something outside strikes me as particularly beautiful/intriguing, I will just randomly go and shoot in it.

Why do you like photography/art?: I love that with photography, you can show a person or thing in it's natural surroundings, or you can create a fictional world around it, maybe even combine the two. I think we're especially lucky to be able to share our creations with other people who feel the same way, on site like Flickr and blogs like these. It's a great way to kind of peek into the live's of others, and into their mind's.

Random facts/information: I had two beta fish when I when I was younger, Rolf I & II. My cat ate them both.

I got a 96 on a test this week.

I use Burt's Bees chap stick.

My mom calls me the shoe-buyingest person she knows.

This is my favorite thing: ~
